The Jan-ken (ジャン拳, Jan-ken; FUNimation "Rock-Paper-Scissors", Viz "Rock, Scissors 'N' Paper") is a martial arts attack used by Son Goku.

Usage

Goku shouts, "Jan-ken" and then a name corresponding to the attack. "Rock" is a strong punch, "Paper" is an open palm strike, and "Scissors" is a poke in the eyes.

History

Dragon Ball

Goku used this attack in his battle against Bear Thief. The Jan-ken was used by Goku until his first fight against General Blue. It was then replaced by the Kamehameha.

Films

Goku used this attack in his battle against Tenshinhan in Dragon Ball: Curse of the Blood Rubies.

Trivia

The "Scissors" part is cut out of the English dubs of Dragon Ball.
