This is one old lady you don't want to upset.

The following is the main timeline of the Dragon Ball franchise by Akira Toriyama.[1] Although some events and characters not not canonical to the original manga are given (Garlic Jr., Cooler, Pikkon, Dragon Ball GT, etc.), others, such as all other film and filler characters and their history, have been included. The events of Future Trunks' and Cell's alternate timelines are also included and clearly noted.

It should be noted that while many fan-made timelines commonly use a B.C. and A.D. calender system, there does not seem to be any significant events (such as the birth of a religious figure like Christ) to justify such a change. Official guides such as the Dragon Ball: Daizenshū use the terms Before Age and Age, but even that seems to lack any logical explanation. The Dragon Ball Encyclopedia uses the Before Age and Age terms to help avoid any confusion and stay true to the original works.

  • Before Age is the Dragon Ball equivalent of B.C. or B.C.E.
  • Age is the Dragon Ball equivalent of A.D. or C.E.
