Artificial Human No. 14 (人造 人間 14号, Jinzō Ningen Jūyon-Gō; FUNimation "Android No. 14") is Doctor Gero's fourteenth creation and was designed to serve Gero's vendetta against Son Goku, who had overthrown the Red Ribbon Army as a child.

Appearance and personality

"Little boys shouldn't play with knives."

No. 14 took the appearance of a large, heavily-built, muscular man. He donned a brown brassard and belt combination, large brown gloves, a long green skirt, and yellow and black boots. His skin tone was a shade of silver, and unlike all other Artificial Humans created by Gero or his computer, had brown eyes instead of blue.

In the original Japanese dub of Super Android 13!, No. 14 was almost completely silent, the only exception being his uttering the words, "Son Goku". In the Funimation dub of the film, No. 14 was given a handful of additional lines, such as when he stopped Trunks' sword attack and remarked, "Little boys shouldn't play with knives."

No. 14 was completed by Doctor Gero's Super Computer alongside No. 15. The two set out for Satan City where they devastatingly assaulted a restaurant, where Goku's family was in the midst of dining, in an effort to kill Goku. After rescuing bystanders in the restaurant's vicinity, a short battle between the Artificial Humans and Goku and Future Trunks ensued; the fighters soon after took their combat to an isolated glacial area where they were followed by Son Gohan and Krillin.

While 14 and 15 took up arms against Goku and Future Trunks, a third Artificial Human arrived on the scene: Artificial Human No. 13, who was completed by Doctor Gero's supercomputer later than No. 14 and No. 15. Upon his arrival on the scene, No. 13 confronted Goku, leaving Trunks and Vegeta to struggle against No. 14 and No. 15, shortly after which Piccolo intervened and assisted Goku as well. Ultimately, No. 14 was destroyed by Trunks following Trunks' transformation into a Super Saiyan after he sliced him in half with his sword in sync with the destruction of No. 15 by Super Saiyan Vegeta, however, even their deaths were fail-safe in Gero's plan as No. 13 paused to absorb components from No. 14 and No. 15, resulting in his Fusion into Super Artificial Human No. 13.

Video games

No. 14 appeared for the first time ever in a video game in Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2.

Artificial Human No. 17 stated during the Androids Saga that Gero had destroyed the first fifteen Artificial Humans he had designed, however, this disturbs the canonicity of both the mainstream series (as Artificial Human No. 8 made cameo appearances throughout both Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT) and Super Android 13! (which featured Artificial Human No. 13, 14, and Artificial Human No. 15 as lead villains and provided an original explanation about how Gero had left an underground supercomputer to finish the models 13 through 15 posthumously).

  • Interestingly, even though No. 13, No. 14, and No. 15 were not featured in the manga, the "Androids A-B-C's" section mentions that Androids 13, 14, and 15 were very close to the final Android concept.
