The Fire-Eating Bird (火喰い 鳥, Hikui Tori; FUNimation "Hikui Bird") is a rare and near-extinct Bird that dwells in volcanoes.

Turtle Hermit's archives claimed that in order to create the Basho Fan, a Fire-Eating Bird's feathers had to be collected. Son Goku and Son Chichi tried to collect a Fire-Eating Bird's feathers in order to create the legendary fan and put out the fire on Mt. Frypan. Turtle Hermit later admitted that he had guessed on most of the directions.
