The Sui-ken (酔拳, Sui-ken; FUNimation "Drunken Fist") is a physical technique used by Jackie Chun.

History[edit]

Dragon Ball[edit]

Jackie Chun used this attack in his match against Son Goku at the 21st Tenkaichi Tournament. After Goku had so far imitated every technique Jackie Chun had used against him, he decided to use the Sui-ken because he knew Goku had never experienced being drunk in his life. Goku, however, created his own technique to counter the Sui-ken, the Monkey-ken.

Video games[edit]

It appeared in the Butōden video game series and is used by Turtle Hermit.

Trivia[edit]

  • It is named Happy Cow in the Toonami broadcast.
  • The name and actions of the technique mimic that of Drunken Boxing, a real world style of fighting that was made famous by Jackie Chan in the film Drunken Master, who is in turn the real world counterpart of Jackie Chun and the reference behind his name.
