Poop is the waste most living creatures leave behind from digesting their food. In Penguin Village, some are shown to be living entities and it contributes a major factor in Dr. Slump comic relief. Though Dragon Ball did not have poop jokes, it still made appearances.

History

Dragon Ball

Poop appearing in a joke in the manga.

It is seen early in the series in the second manga volume, A Wish to the Eternal Dragon, in Chapter 19. Mai is seen holding poop on a stick and Pilaf criticizes that she is making a Dr. Slump reference. As a joke by Akira Toriyama, Pilaf states to Mai that Shonen Jump has actually been a lot more sophisticated and intelligent since Dr. Slump had finished and that she should not ruin it.

None of the living Poops appeared in the manga during the General Blue Saga, but they did in the anime filler. Poop, Cow Poop, and Sparrow Poop were seen watching Arale Norimaki race the two Gajira Norimaki. When Arale accidently smashed the car that General Blue stole from the police, Arale offered him some poop on a stick which he rejected in disgust. Afterwards, both Gajira lifted up a giant poop and Arale asked, "Would you like another flavor?"

Known Poops

Possible censorship

Since Dr. Slump has never been released in English and Arale states if he would like another flavor, it could be that they meant to make it seem like it is living ice cream rather than Poop since it would seem like a crude joke to American audiences who would not get the joke since Dr. Slump was not shown to American audiences.
