Dr. Brief, Bulma Brief, and Mrs. Brief

The Brief family consists of seven known members, four confirmed extended members, and an unspecified number of unnamed ones.

History

The Brief family was introduced in the series with the character Bulma Brief. As with Akira Toriyama's naming puns, all of the names of associated characters are related to one another. The Brief family's theme is undergarnments.

The Brief family was noted as a family from Metro West. Supporting the fact that the Brief family was a Western family, they were seen primarily dressing in Western-style clothing.

• When Goku meets Bulma in Dragon Ball: The Path to Power, he laughs and says that she has a funny name. She replies, "Don't you think I know that? It's a family name.", a reference to the naming scheme for her family.
