Inoshi Kacho (イノシ カチョ, Inoshi Kacho; FUNimation "InoShikaCho"; Literally meaning "Boar Deer Butterfly") is a hybrid animal.

Biography

Inoshi Kacho appeared in "The Rampage of InoShikaCho". He was part Boar, part Butterfly, and part Deer. It was revealed by Turtle Hermit that Inoshi Kacho had been raised by his former friend, Crane Hermit, but as Inoshi Kacho got older and larger, he had become more aggressive.

Inoshi Kacho was first defeated by Tenshinhan and Chaozu (although their names were not revealed at that point), however, Son Goku soon discovered that this was all an act and that the three of them were working together – Inoshi Kacho would begin a village rampage and Tenshinhan and Chaozu would pretend to defeat him in order to reap the rewards from the grateful villagers. Goku exposed the plot the second time they tried it by tickling the "corpse" to prove that Inoshi Kachowas still lived. When Tenshinhan turned this around by planting fire beneath the creature, who was tied up, to prove that Goku was in on the plot, the ever-compassionate boy rescued Inoshi Kacho, and in turn Inoshi Kacho protected him from the angered villagers who had fallen for Tenshinhan's ploy.

Eventually everyone realized the truth, and once Goku persuaded Inoshi Kacho to apologize, the creature was looked after by a young village girl who affectionately called him Ino. Inoshi Kacho remained Goku's friend and training partner (according to FUNimation's narrator) and stayed in the village to help sow the soil.

Trivia

  • The name Inoshi Kacho is a reference to a card combination in the Hanafuda card game, Koi-Koi. Inoshikachō uses the Boar (Ino), the Deer (Shika), and the Butterflies (Chō).
