Offensive technique
From Dragon Ball Encyclopedia, the ''Dragon Ball'' wiki
Offensive techniques are the majority of techniques used in Dragon Ball, Neko Majin, and Dr. Slump. From energy waves to martial arts, offensive techniques were used to subdue the opponent. There were a vast number of offensive techniques that appeared in Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT. The offensive technique counterpart was the defensive technique.
History
One example of an offensive technique, and probably the most used technique, was the Kamehameha. It was used by many people during the series and was also the most recognized technique. There were a great number of variations to this technique, most of which were developed by Son Goku. To perform the Kamehameha, the user cupped their hands and drew them to their side and their ki was concentrated into a single point between the cupped hands. As this was happening, the user shouted "Ka-me-ha-me-HA!!!". As the last syllable was uttered, the hands were then thrust forward to shoot out a streaming, powerful beam of energy.
Another example of an offensive technique was the Genki Dama. Many people considered the Genki Dama to be the most powerful technique in the whole series, however, this depended on how much ki was donated to it. Son Goku and North Kaio were the only two known users in the anime, however, Son Gohan and Kuririn did rebound the bomb once. To use it, the fighter stood with their feet apart and their arms straight up in the air. The user then drew in every ounce of energy available to them, either from the planet, galaxy, or universe. To assist the Genki Dama, the inhabitants of a planet could donate their energy to the attack.
A final example of an offensive technique was the Meteor Smash, an attack which was first seen in the Freeza Saga when it was used against Freeza's Full Power form. Son Goku was the only known user of this attack. To perform it, Son Goku first shouted, "It's over!" as he proceeded to punch his opponent in the stomach. Next, he punched his opponent again and caused them to be knocked backwards, to which he flew after them and delivered a right hook kick to their face. Finally, Son Goku knocked his opponent away with a left axe kick to the side of their head, inflicting a massive amount of damage to the opponent.
