3D Scan Mode is a supportive technique used by Artificial Human No. 14, Artificial Human No. 15, and Sergeant Metallic.

History

Dragon Ball

When Son Goku went up to the third floor of Muscle Tower, Metallic scanned his body and found out that Goku was not Human, but he was unsure what race of alien Goku actually was.

Films

No. 15 using 3D Scan Mode on Goku prior to their first engagement.

3D Scan Mode appeared in Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13! No. 14 and No. 15 relied heavily on 3D Scan Mode during their search for Goku throughout a city. This feature even allowed them to see straight through buildings, leading to their discovery of Goku. It also had some way of measuring battle powers, as seen when reading Goku's power before proceeding to attack him. One final feature was a synchronization with Doctor Gero's Super Computer which fed them information and showed scans of weak points during battle. When they used 3D Scan Mode, their eyes flashed and made repetitive beeping noises. They also saw a blue interface filled with white graphs, numbers, and other various technological markings.

Data books

It is named Bunseki (分析, Bunseki; Literally meaning "Analysis") in Dragon Ball: Daizenshū 7.
