Differences in chapter 1

  • Goku meets Kame for the first time on Turtle Island, thus not saving him and earning the Kinto Un.
  • Turtle Hermit does not know what Goku wants when he arrives.
  • After a few gags, they skip to Training Island. No mention of Hoi Poi Capsules, Lunch, or Dragon Balls as in "Bloomers and the Monkey King".
  • Instead of the training methods in the manga and a rock search, it is simply a one month survival in the jungle.
  • The Kamehameha debuts in the plot with Turtle Hermit destroying an erupting volcano.
  • Kuririn is not hostile to Goku, being friendly from nearly the start and enjoying Goku's wild lifestyle.
  • Kuririn is captured by a Pteranodon and Goku uses the Kamehameha for the first time to save Kuririn.
  • Seemingly, the Kinto Un does not come from the sky any longer based on the first page and the page where Goku does not call for it.
