The Sonic Sword Attack (ソニック ソード アタック, Sonikku Sōdo Atakku) is an energy wave channeled through Future Trunks' sword. In Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II, Future Trunks slashes with his sword, sending a wide wave of Ki energy forward and damaging anything caught in the wave.

In the Budokai Tenkaichi video game series, Future Trunks (w/Sword)'s charged Ki Blasts look a lot like the Sonic Sword Attack (basically it is a 3-dimensional version of the Sonic Sword Attack from Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II). When the player uses his charged Ki Blast, Trunks' fires a wave of Ki from his sword (or a "slash" of Ki) at his opponent. This slash of Ki is capable of bypassing an opponent's guard. The only defense against this attack is to either evade it or hide behind a stage's terrain (objects and buildings) to keep from getting hit by it.

Some of the other sword users in DBZ: BT3 (Yajirobe, Tapion, [[Super[Janemba]], Dabura, etc.) have similiar charged Ki Blasts.

[edit] Variations

  • Lightning Sword Attack - A stronger/rapid fire version of the Sonic Sword Attack. Trunks swings his sword rapidly, sending waves of energy blades that hit the opponent. Its Trunks' (base form) Ultimate Blast.
  • Ki Slash - A similiar technique used by Yajirobe where he creates a wave of energy from his sword and launches it at the opponent.
  • Brave Slash - A similiar technique used by Tapion, however, instead of a single slash wave, he fires several slash waves at the opponent in rapid succession.
