Butta

From Dragon Ball Encyclopedia, the ''Dragon Ball'' wiki

"I always thought he was too cocky for his own good. Looks like that ego of his finally got him into trouble."
Butta in "New Ally, New Problem"

Butta (バータ, Bāta; FUNimation "Burter", Viz "Burta") is the tallest member of Freeza's elite mercenary platoon, the Ginyu Special Corps.

Butta's Japanese name is a pun on the word Batā, or Butter in English.

Biography

Butta battling on Planet Namek.

Butta was the self-proclaimed Azure Typhoon, or Blue Hurricane in the manga, and fancied himself the fastest being in the universe next to Freeza. He once demonstrated this when effortlessly taking flight at incredible speed to retrieve a Dragon Ball thrown across the horizon by Vegeta, an attempt to keep the artifact from Freeza's possession.

Along with Jheese, Butta was a spectator to the fight between Recoome, Vegeta, Kuririn, and Son Gohan, and it was not until Son Goku arrived and single-handedly incapacitated Recoome that he joined in the combat. Butta and Jheese sprayed Goku with countless physical attacks and energy waves, but Goku proved to be fast enough to avoid the efforts of both elites (much to the Butta's surprise, who prided himself on his unmatched speed). He then defeated Butta with two crippling blows to the back. Shortly thereafter, in spite of Goku's wishes to give the Ginyu Force member a chance to redeem his selfish ways, Vegeta ruthlessly finished the unconscious Butta by dropping his knee on Butta's neck, thus breaking it.

Later, when the Ginyu Force (aside from their leader) were invited to North Kaio's World, he joined Jheese in using the Purple Spiral Flash against Tenshinhan only to be defeated soon after when the Z Warriors realized how little of a threat the platoon actually posed due to their own increased potential.

He was once again defeated by Goku at the beginning of the Great Saiyaman Saga when, along with Cell, Freeza, Cold, and the other members of the Ginyu Force, he was torturing the Ogres in order to divulge information as a means to escape Hell. After Goku effortlessly defeated him along with all the rest of the Ginyu members, he was locked in a cell with his comrades.

Burter was evidently seen once more as one of the spectators amongst the slew of villains who were watching the battle between Goku and Kid Boo during the Kid Buu Saga.

Battle power

During the Namek Saga, Kuririn states that both Butta and Jheese are as strong as ReaCoom. Dragon Ball Z: Sagas shows that his battle power is 75,000, but this cannot be accurate as Ginyu declares that Goku must have a battle power of 60,000 to stand a chance against Butta and Jheese. Perhaps the best resource to confirm Butta's battle power is Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiya Densetsu where in the battle against Butta he is at a maximum of 62,000.
