From Dragon Ball Encyclopedia, the ''Dragon Ball'' wiki
The Newest Super Saiyan is the twelfth episode of the Great Saiyaman Saga and the two hundred sixth overall episode of Dragon Ball Z. The original Japanese title is "Gohan mo Bikkuri! Goten no Bakuhatsu Pawa" (悟飯もビックリ!悟天の爆発パワー). The episode first aired on November 10, 1993. It's original American air date was September 24, 2001.
All over the Z Fighters prepare for the tournament and Goku's return. On top of Kami's Lookout, Piccolo is in intense meditation, Android 18 is making Krillin train for his breakfast. Chi-Chi warns Goten not to interfere with Gohan's training. Gohan transforms to Super Saiyan! He is beginning his training to enter the world martial arts tournament. Goten helps him train by throwing rocks at Gohan and then sparred him. After revealing that he is able to become a Super Saiyan, he and Gohan fight more seriously.
Goten says he doesn't even remember when he became able to transform. In a flashback he reveals how Chi-Chi found out he was a Super Saiyan. They were sparring and he transformed and defeated her. He also reveals that Trunks is stronger than him.
- Gohan is shocked when he learns that his brother cannot fly. This, however, creates a plot hole. In the episode Blackmail, he makes direct reference to the fact that Goten can't fly, yet he still manages to get around.
- There is a plot hole when Gohan says that he was "twice Goten's age" when he first turned into a Super Saiyan; Goten is 7 in this episode and Gohan was only 10 (almost 11) when he first transformed.
