DBZ Episode 209
From Dragon Ball Encyclopedia, the ''Dragon Ball'' wiki
Camera Shy is the fifteenth episode of the Great Saiyaman Saga and the two hundred ninth overall episode of Dragon Ball Z. The original Japanese title is "Ayaushi Saiyaman! Gekisha ni Goyojin!?" (危うしサイヤマン!激写に御用心!?). The episode first aired on December 8, 1993. It's original American air date was September 27, 2001.
Summary
Sharpner tries to get a picture of the Great Saiyaman unmasked so Videl will go out with him. Several attempts to do this are foiled, but he is eventually able to get a picture of him without his glasses on. However, Piccolo destroys all the cameras in the area, including Sharpner's.
A punching machine is used to determine who the sixteen fighters in the tournament will be. Hercule, who automatically gets one of those sixteen spots, scores a 137. Goku, Krillin, Android 18, and Piccolo each give it a light tap and get in the 200's of it (Android 18 originally scored a 774 but they told her that the machine is busted). Vegeta doesn't hold back at all and when he punches the machine, it is destroyed. Thus, all five of them qualify for the tournament.
Trivia
- When Sharpner tries to jump on Saiyaman from above, he misses because Gohan bends down and picks up a frog that looks similar to Captain Ginyu, though it is never revealed if this is in fact the character's last appearance.
- This is the second time someone becomes determined to unmask Saiyaman.
- It is revealed by Krillin in this episode that Android 17 and Android 18 were once human but were turned into androids by Dr. Gero.
- It is also revealed that Krillin's baldness was due to him waxing his head (which is referenced again in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound).
- The kid that asked Gohan to help him see better so Sharpner can unmask Great Saiyaman has the same voice as little Krillin in Dragon Ball.
