Yajirobe's Air Car during the Namek Saga.

Air Cars (浮遊 車, Fuyū Kuruma) are a type of landcraft that Earthlings use as a means of transportation.

History

Dragon Ball

The first Air Car seen in the series was Gyumao's Car. Gyuamao gave his Air Car to Bulma Brief, Son Goku, and Oolong as a replacement for their previous car that had been destroyed by Goku trying out the Kamehameha. Followed by Yamucha and Puar in their own Air Car called Silverstar 4, the Dragon Ball Gang used Gyuamao's Car to travel all the way from the Mushroom Forest to an area just outside of Castle Pilaf where the car was then destroyed by Shuu in a Pilaf Machine. Air Cars were regularly used by the police as seen in "Look Out for Launch" and Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!

Hasky owned a burgundy Air Car that she used to fly after stealing Goku's Dragon Balls. The Red Ribbon Army Headquarters was protected by soldiers driving Air Cars. In Dragon Ball: The Path to Power, a black Air Car served as the head of Staff Officer Black's Battle Jacket.

Dragon Ball Z

In Dragon Ball Z filler episodes, it was shown that Gyuamao had a red hovercar[1] and that Kuririn owned both an Air Car and a normal car. Son Chichi used Gyuamao's red Air Car when she went to Kame House with her father to ask Turtle Hermit about her son, Son Gohan (who was training under Piccolo at Break Wasteland).[2] The Air Car used by the Capsule Corporation came with emergency food as seen during the Frieza Saga when Bulma was traveling with Commander Ginyu (who was in a Namekian Frog's body at the time). When Yajirobe was not at Karin Tower, he used his Air Car to deliver Senzu to the Z Warriors.

Future Artificial Human No. 17 used an red Air Car to kill Humans in Purple City. While this happened, Future Bulma Brief was driving a blue Air Car which Future Trunks Briefs left upon hearing that the Artificial Humans were in Purple City on the radio.[3] Air Cars could ascend to very high heights as seen when Goku and Piccolo were forced to take driving lessons[4] and when Men-Men took Mister Satan and Artificial Human No. 18 to Mei Queen Castle.[5] After Kid Boo's defeat, Yamucha bought a new Air Car that was red in color.[6]

Dragon Ball GT

In Dragon Ball GT, Vegeta drove an Air Car home after taking his daughter, Bra Brief, shopping. Though the Air Car was damaged when they were attacked by Gohan Baby, Bra used it to go home so that Vegeta could fight against Gohan Baby. Later, during the Super 17 Saga, Bulma and Bra were seen traveling in a race Air Car.

Video games

Air Car were used by the Red Ribbon Army in Dragon Ball 3: Gokū Den, Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure, and Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans. Gyumao's Car and Yamucha's Silverstar 4 appeared in Dragon Ball: Origins.

Air Cars appeared in Metro West in Dragon Ball 3: Gokū Den, in the Metro West battle stage in the Budokai video game series, and in Metro East in Super Dragon Ball Z.

Freeza's Force used Air Cars in Dragon Ball Online.
