New Planet Vegeta (新 惑星 ベジータ, Shin Wakusei Bejiita) is a planet in the Southern Galaxy.

History

New Planet Vegeta was the new homeworld of the remaining Saiyans after the destruction of Planet Vegeta by Freeza.

Films

New Planet Vegeta appeared in Dragon Ball Z: Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan and in Broly's flashback of Son Goku defeating him in Dragon Ball Z: Broly: Second Coming. New Planet Vegeta was established by Paragus and he invited Vegeta to be its new ruler. New Planet Vegeta was actually created as a ruse to lure Vegeta and his "friends" to their death either by Broly or Comet Camori, the latter to impact into the planet only a few hours after the discovery that Broly was the Legendary Super Saiyan. Paragus wanted to take revenge on King Vegeta for the attempted execution of both himself and his infant son, Broly. Ironically, this was the same day that Freeza had destroyed the original Planet Vegeta. According to Paragus, he "...picked the next best thing...", the death of King Vegeta's son, Vegeta. Paragus had his son destroy the cities and enslave numerous aliens from a nearby planet to create the castle where they stayed.

New Planet Vegeta did not resemble the Planet Vegeta and was mostly deserted except for the main castle and the workers in the ruins of the cities. As said before, New Planet Vegeta was intended to be used as an ambush as the colossal Comet Camori was heading straight for it. Paragus intended to get rid of Vegeta and the Z Warriors while he and Broly escaped and conquered Planet Earth. When he lost control of Broly, however, he was forced to abandon his son to New Planet Vegeta's fate. Any hope of escape was literally crushed when the plan backfired. Broly suddenly appeared and caught him attempting to escape in a Saiyan Space Pod. He killed him by crushing the Saiyan Space Pod and threw it toward the approaching comet. His last dying words were that he was being killed by the son that had once saved his life. It is never seen again after the movie. It is assumed to be abandoned.

Video games

New Planet Vegeta is a playable stage in Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2.

Trivia

  • A flashback by Paragas implies that Broly as a kid may have been responsible for the city lying in ruin on Planet Vegeta since Broly is seen using the Eraser Cannon destroy a city that greatly resembles the desolate city on New Planet Vegeta.
