Synopsis
Son Goku and Son Chichi arrived at the Kame House. Goku told Turtle Hermit that the Kinto Un was great and Turtle Hermit replied that he had gotten it from God. Chichi was skeptical about whether or not the Turtle Hermit was really Turtle Hermit so she threw her helmet blade to see if he could dodge it. He sensed the attack but not soon enough to dodge it. While Chichi berated him, Turtle Hermit pulled out his driver's license as proof. Chichi apologized and pulled out the blade from his forehead.
Turtle Hermit then talked to Goku in secret and said that he would lend the Basho Fan to him if he got to poke Bulma's breasts. Kame was disgusted, but Turtle Hermit said he was an old man with only a few years left in life. Kame replied that he had taken a potion that gave him eternal life though. Nevertheless, Goku agreed and Turtle Hermit said to not to mention the deal to Chichi. While he searched for the Basho Fan, Kame mentioned that it was last used as a place mat. Turtle Hermit replied that he had thrown it away after spilling juice on it. Turtle Hermit then told them that he would go to Mt. Frypan personally and put out the fire. He called upon Baby Gamera for transportation.
Upon arriving at Mt. Frypan, Gyumao rushed to greet his old master and Turtle Hermit immediately fell to the ground because Baby Gamera travelled by spinning through the air. After he berated Gyumao for killing people over his treasure in his castle, the mighty giant begged for forgiveness. Turtle Hermit then pulled Goku and Bulma aside and reminded Goku of their deal. At first, Bulma got very mad but Turtle Hermit pointed out that the Dragon Ball was still inside the castle. Bulma said she would let him only if Turtle Hermit could really put out the fire.
After taking off his purple turtle shell and shirt, Turtle Hermit suddenly started to bulk up his scrawny body. Meanwhile, Yamucha and Puar stared in awe. After his energy was harnessed, Turtle Hermit fired his Kamehameha technique at the fire. When it was all over, he returned to his normal self. Everyone pointed past him and informed him that not only was the fire out, but the mountain and castle had been destroyed. Bulma was able to find the Dragon Ball in the rubble using the Dragon Radar though.
Goku asked if he could learn the technique and Turtle Hermit told him it would take 50 years to perfect. Goku managed to perform it right after speaking with Turtle Hermit when he fired it at the car partially destroying it. His was not as powerful as Turtle Hermit’s yet. Turtle Hermit was dumbfounded, but after Gyumao mentioned that he was the grandson of Son Gohan, it explained a lot. Turtle Hermit then told the group that he did remember Son Gohan saying something in the past about finding a boy with a tail. When Turtle Hermit asked Goku how his grandfather was, Goku replied that had been dead for a long time. Turtle Hermit asked Goku if he would like to be trained by him and Goku agreed right after he was done finding the Dragon Balls.
Bulma finally found the Dragon Ball in the rubble – the Seven-Star Ball. After she saw that Goku had destroyed the car, she became upset until Gyumao offered the group a capsule which turned into an older model jet car. Before Goku, Bulma, and Oolong took off, Turtle Hermit reminded Bulma about the deal. Quickly, Bulma pulled Oolong aside and asked him to turn into her. Oolong replied no until Bulma threatened him that she would say "pee pee" again. Oolong turned into a version of Bulma that was short and ugly and she told him to try harder. He was able to turn into a copy of Bulma and Oolong/Bulma called Turtle Hermit over to let him touch her breasts. Bulma later hit Oolong on the head when Oolong/Bulma got too into the role with Turtle Hermit.
Chichi asked Goku if he would come back when they were older and make her his bride. Goku had no idea what that mean but said he would. Yamucha and Puar used a Silver Star Four capsule which turned into a newer model jet car and they followed the other jet car. Goku and the group were now off to find the last Dragon Ball – the One-Star Ball.

Edits
Visual edits
Scene removals
- The scene where Oolong disguises himself as Bulma and exposes his breasts to Turtle Hermit, thus giving him a nosebleed, is completely removed in the early English dub.
Dialogue edits
- The Ocean Group dub replaces Turtle Hermit wanting to see Bulma's breasts with setting him up on a date with an old woman like him.
- Turtle Hermit wants Bulma to walk on the beach with him in the edited FUNimation dub shown on the Cartoon Network.
Trivia
- This is the first time in the series that the Kamehameha is used. It was used twice, by Master Roshi and Goku, who learned it immediately after witnessing it once.
- The edited 1995 dub of this episode uses the misspelling "Kamehameah".
- This is the only episode in the whole series where Turtle Hermit uses his 100% full power form, however, it is used again in Dragon Ball Z: Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan. In that, he had no role with the form.
- Bulma appears wearing no blue tights and instead has bare skin many times throughout this episode.
- This is the last non-filler appearance of Chichi as a kid. She appears as a kid during the Red Ribbon Army Saga a few times early on, but these were just filler.
"Master Roshi agrees to let Goku borrow the Bansho fan,but remembers that he threw it out. He decides to put out the fire himself. When they arrive back at Fire Mountain, Master Roshi uses his famous Kamehame-Ha to blow out the flames. The wave puts out the fire, but it also destroys the entire mountain. With the Dragon Radar, Bulma is able to search through the rubble and find the Seven-Star Ball. Goku tries his own Kamehameha wave and is miraculously able to do it on the first try." cannot be used as a page name in this wiki.
