Ryugadani

From Dragon Ball Encyclopedia, the ''Dragon Ball'' wiki

Ryugadani (竜が谷, Ryūgadani; FUNimation "Skull Valley"; Literally meaning "Dragon Valley") is a valley on Planet Earth.

History

Dragon Ball

Bulma Brief and Son Goku stopped near Ryugadani to camp overnight after their first day on the journey to collect the Dragon Balls. The land was normal except for a valley that was full of bones and populated with carnivorous Wolves. Pilaf's minions, Mai and Shuu, investigated a story that a glow could be seen in the valley at night. They had hopes that this glow was from a Dragon Ball.

The next morning, Kame was found in the area by Goku and Bulma after he had lost his way back to the ocean beach. The location was shown again in a small scene in "The Turtle Hermit's Kinto Un" where Bulma re-capsulized the Capsule House they had slept in when they continued their journey.

Video games

An unnamed location in Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku is likely Skull Valley. It is located right outside of Mount Paozu and filled with Wolves and bones.

Differences between the anime and the manga

  • The scenes of the Wolves and bones appear in the anime but not the manga. The name Skull Valley is not mentioned in the manga either.

Trivia

  • In the End Credits for most of the Dragon Ball anime, Ryugadani is shown along with the Capsule House on a rainy night with Bulma in her nightgown looking out a window.
